At Antalya, cargo ships and cruise ships share the same port. This page explains how the port is set up, where ships anchor, and how you can follow that traffic with VesselCall.

Port profile: location, operator and cargo

The Port of Antalya sits at the western edge of the city, at the exit toward Kemer, in the Konyaaltı district. It is run by QTerminals Antalya (Ortadoğu Antalya Liman İşletmeleri A.Ş.), a member of the QTerminals group, under an operating period that runs until 2047.

The operator describes it as a multipurpose port offering:

  • General cargo, dry bulk and project cargo
  • Containers
  • Cruise, with three cruise piers and a passenger terminal
  • Drilling shorebase and naval vessel services

Block marble is the most important export shipped through the port. Next door, ASBAŞ, the operator of the Antalya Free Zone, runs its own berths, which handle cargo such as cement and barite.

Vessel traffic and anchorages

Antalya’s traffic falls into two groups: dry cargo and container ships carrying marble, cement and general cargo, and cruise ships in season. According to the ministry’s statistics, 540 vessels called in the Antalya harbour master’s area in 2025. The same year, 18 cruise ships called, and a large share of their passengers boarded or left the ship in Antalya. In other words, many cruises start or end here.

The Antalya section of Türkiye’s Ports Regulation (Limanlar Yönetmeliği) defines three anchorages. We calculated the distances below from the official coordinates, measured from the port basin:

AnchorageUseLocation
No. 1Ships without dangerous cargo, naval vesselsJust south of the port, about 1-2 nm
No. 2Ships without dangerous cargo staying for a long timeNortheast, off the city center, about 4-5 nm
No. 3Dangerous cargo, quarantine, gas-freeingSouth-southwest, south of Sıçan Island, about 2-3 nm

According to the operator’s dangerous cargo guide, ships can take fuel and lubricants and discharge waste with the permission of the Antalya harbour master.

How VesselCall monitors the Port of Antalya

In Outreach, you select Antalya and set a range (radius). We suggest 10 nautical miles: that circle covers all three anchorages, the pilot boarding points and the approach to the port. VesselCall detects cargo ships, tankers and passenger ships inside the range, and cruise ships show up as passenger ships. Yachts, tugs and fishing boats are filtered out by default, so the busy marina traffic does not fill your list.

Using the vessel’s IMO number, VesselCall identifies the ship manager or commercial manager, then the ISM manager, then the registered owner. Your introduction e-mail goes out from your own company domain, in the recipient’s language.

The Data package records port calls at Antalya independently of e-mail sending: arrival, departure, length of stay, and whether the ship waited at anchor or at berth. Period reports show the split between cargo and passenger ships, the cruise sub-type, flags and the most frequent ship managers, and you can export the list to CSV or Excel. Records build up from the day monitoring starts.
