Cookie Policy

Updated:

In short: the vesselcall.com website does not use cookies. To remember whether you prefer the light or dark theme, it writes a single entry to your browser's local storage (localStorage). There is no analytics, advertising or social media tracking on the site, which is why we do not show a cookie banner. Our customer platform only uses cookies that are needed for login and security.

1. What are cookies and local storage?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser and that are sent back to the website with later requests. Local storage (localStorage) is a similar browser technology for storing information; unlike cookies, its contents are not sent to the server automatically.

2. What we use on vesselcall.com

Name Type Purpose Duration
Theme preference Local storage (localStorage); functional, strictly necessary Applying the light or dark theme you chose on your next visits Until you clear your browser data

This entry only contains your theme preference. It is read only by your browser and is not sent to us or to third parties. It contains nothing that identifies you.

3. What we do not use

  • analytics or statistics cookies,
  • advertising or retargeting cookies,
  • social media plugins,
  • third-party fonts, scripts or tracking pixels.

Fonts, images and other files are served from our own server. Your browser does not contact third-party servers when it loads our pages, so no third party can place cookies in your browser through our website.

4. Customer platform (app.vesselcall.com)

On our customer platform, we use strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged in and to protect your account (for example a session cookie and protection against cross-site request forgery, CSRF). These cookies are required for the service to work; if you block them, you cannot log in. They expire when you log out or after a limited period. The platform does not use advertising cookies.

5. Tracking in e-mails

Introduction e-mails sent through VesselCall currently contain no tracking pixels, and we do not track opens or clicks. Recipients can find more details in our information for e-mail recipients.

6. How to manage your preferences

  • To remove the theme entry, clear the site data for this website in your browser settings. After that, the site opens with its default appearance.
  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the platform's strictly necessary cookies, you cannot log in.

7. Changes

If we ever decide to use a cookie or similar technology that requires consent, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before we start using it. To learn how we process personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
